    Weekly KPC Youth Ministry Announcements 01/30/12 - 02/05/12

    Hello! 


    I hope and pray that you're doing well. 


    Worship team sign up is always open, so please feel free to sign up by email, text or call and take an active part during Sunday worship presiding, praying the congregational prayer & also doing the Scripture Reading. Remember that there is no age limit for this, so 6th graders are more than welcome to sign up as well.


    Please, read 1 Samuel 17 for this Sunday! .


    Announcements for this week:

    • Valentine's Day Banquet (Sunday Feb. 12th @ 5pm)- Please, email me 2 - 5 pictures of you and your parents as a baby or toddler. If you don't have a scanner at home, please writ your name in the back of the pictures and bring the pictures to Elisa Moon asap!
    • 02/03 Friday Evening - Ignite @ 7:00pm in the youth building. Please, join us for a great time of fellowship and also learning of God's Word. Please, BRING YOUR BIBLES and expect to end around 9:30pm.
    • 02/05 Sunday Morning - Sunday Worship @ 11:00am in the Mission Hall (Gym). Please, bring your BIBLES & Read 1 Samuel 17. BRING YOUR BIBLES!!!
    • 02/05 Sunday Evening - Superbowl Party @ 5:00pm in the gym. Please, bring $5 dollars for Popeyes Chicken dinner & drinks. IF YOU DID NOT SIGN UP for it this past Sunday, please let me know that you'll be coming by this Wednesday so we can order enough food for you!!!
    SUMMER MISSION TRIP 2012:
    Dates: July 8th (Sun) - 13th (F)

    Location: Joplin, MO (Tornado Relief Efforts) Click here for more information 

    Mission Organization: Experience Mission (we went to Atlanta, GA & Belize through them) Clickhere for more information on the organization

    Mission Trip Cost: About $200 each person 

    Mission Work: 
    The work projects will be organized to specifically to help the people affected by the natural disaster. We will work in neighborhoods with a diverse group of people and circumstances. Team members will have an opportunity to share their lives through service, prayer, and time spent with the families and children they came to work among. 

    Outreach Ministry 
    Due to the unique nature of this natural disaster, the opportunity for relational ministry may take place directly at your team’s worksite as you come along side and encourage those you have come to serve. There may be additional opportunities to serve in various types of people ministry if the need arises. These types of ministry could include things like visiting local families and church members who were directly affected by the tornado. etc... 

    Mission Trip Requirements:
    - Current 6th & up
    - Must attend all mission training meetings
    - Must attend all Ignite meetings
    - Must attend all prayer meetings
    - Must attend all New City Work days
    - Must attend all fundraising meetings
    - Must not be absent for two weeks in a row (all absence must be notified beforehand and must be justified)

    Mission trip sign up starts this Sunday, so please pray about it, check your summer schedule, talk to your parents and start signing up! 

    Upcoming January & February Events:
    • 02/03 Friday Evening - Ignite @ 7:00pm in the youth building.
    • 02/05 Sunday Evening - Superbowl Party @ 5:00pm - Please, bring $5 for dinner.
    • 02/10 Friday Evening - Praise & Prayer Night! @ 7:00pm in the youth building.
    • 02/11 Saturday Morning - New City Work Day @ 7:30am in the youth building
    • 02/12 Sunday Evening - Valentine's Day Banquet @ 5:00pm in the Mission Hall (Semi-formal)
    • 02/17 Friday Evening - Joint Fellowship @ 7:00pm at Hope Church.
    • 02/24 Friday Evening - Triple Crown #1 - more information to come. 

    Youth ministry library: The youth ministry of KPC has a library on the third floor of educational building. We have some very good books and they will help you grow more in the knowledge of our God, yourselves and others, so please, check out the library and take advantage of them.  We have books like: "The Reason for God," "Perfecting Ourselves to Death," "Mere Christianity," etc. Take them, read them and return them! 


    Prayer Requests:

    - Please, pray for our Youth Ministry, for Pastor John & Saras, Karis & Jaron, Pastor James & Elisa jdsn and for all youth ministry programs & events. Pray that all the programs & events will serve to draw us closer and closer to God and to each other in Christ serving one another and reaching out to others with the love of Christ.


    - Please, pray for all new 6th graders: Danny Cho, Justin Lee, Jenny Chun, Won Lee, Daniel Cho, San Kwon, Sol Kwon, DaeHyun Kang, Sarah (SaeYun) Choe, Eunice Shin, Sean Kang & Edward Garner that they'll be able to adjust to youth ministry quickly and continue to grow and mature in faith. Let's continue to reach out to them.


    - Please, pray for all our seniors: YoonHo Bae, Dabin Choe, David Chun, Derrick Kang, Gloria Ki, Kevin Kim, Ryan Kim, Tess Kliethermes, Jake Lee, Paul Lee, Maria Nguyen, Christian Park, Diane Park, Sarah Park, Ashley Roh that God will give them wisdom and strength to finish high school well and strong and that God will guide each one of them to the future school that He has already prepared for them. Please, also pray for a very good church where they can continue to grow and mature in faith as well as for good and godly friends and good roommates. 


    - Please, pray for the commitments that have been made at the Life 360 Retreat. Pray that God's word will continue to teach us, change us, guide us and use us helping us to live Christ in every degree of our lives.
